The Needle Grippers are designed to pick up very thin, awkward and generally
most ‘hard to handle’ items including, but not limited to, porous
materials that cannot be picked up by vacuum grippers.

The ST Series Needle
Grippers have a spring loaded conical piston that extends the needle holders
out from its center to grip the material. The larger of the two, the ST40,
has four sets of ten needles gripping in four directions, while the ST36 has
20 needles gripping in two directions. The depth penetration on both models
can be adjusted to a 0.001 mm resolution. They also have a blow-off port so
as to release and pick up just one item, even materials with severe static
charges!

Brother…
The Needle
Gripper’s other family members are the SCH Series Grippers. This series is
ideal for heavier pieces of cloth-like materials, such as: styrofoam, steel
wool, foam rubber, curtain cloth, thin carpet and more. Four thick needles (Ø
1.3 mm) can grip from 0 to 6 mm deep. The SCH20 is double acting and it’s
needles extend and retract with compressed air. If these needles are too
thin, the 3 mm thick needles of the SCH23 can be ordered. Also, on both SCH
gripper models, the needle holders and the needles can be replaced.
