Internal Hole Grippers from Techno-Sommer are so cool, it’s almost scary.
So, it should be no surprise to learn that they are one of our best selling
items. The gripper’s rubber knobs are evenly distributed around the
circumference and along the length of the housing. When air is supplied to
the grippers
bladder, the knobs extend radially outward from the gripper’s cylindrical
housing. The rubber knobs then grip with a frictional force that is perfect
for non-uniform, sensitive or irregularly
shaped parts. To gain an even better idea of the Internal Hole Gripper’s
usefulness, we can tell you that typical applications range from delicate
laboratory glasses, porcelain and sintered parts to very heavy engine
blocks, pistons and tire rims.
The Right Tool for
the Job… The LG Series comes
in 18 different sizes covering ID's in a continuous range from 15 mm to 135
mm. So, you're sure to find a size to suit your applications needs. The two
smallest
models (LG15-18 & LG 18-22) come with 12 rubber gripping knobs, while
all the others use 18. The LG Series’ opening force ranges from 100 N (22
lbf) rising gradually to 3500 N (770 lbf) and the knobs extend up to a
gripping distance of 16 mm.
That’s One Self-Centered
Gripper!
There are those
times that the part you’re picking up will be off-center. And well, the
part isn’t going to center itself. This is when the built-in compliance
feature of the LG Series gripper is most handy - especially when the part is
not uniform or consistently located. The bladder is designed to distribute
the air evenly around the gripper so the part is automatically (and gently)
centered. Also, the rubber knobs are surface friendly so they won’t
scratch or mar your part in any way. The units are also easy to rebuild.
Just pop off the cover, pull out the old bladder and install the new one.
